Born in High Point on January 10, 1934, he was the son of William R. Andrews and Letha B. Andrews of Trinity. Kay, as he was known, grew up in Trinity and graduated from Trinity High School in 1952.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, his high school sweet heart the former Frances Wagoner Andrews; and his five surviving children, Cindy A. Craven (Ted) of Archdale, Bill (Leo) Andrews of Smithfield, Terry Lee (Addie) Andrews of High Point, Susan Fagg (Bill) of Thomasville, and Mike (Deborah) Andrews of Greensboro; nineteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Betsy (John) Ingram of Summerfield.

He was predeceased by his parents and one son, Charles (Chuck) Andrews.

He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service, and was a flight engineer on the C141 and C5.  Kay was very proud of his service in the Air Force and loved his flying time, getting to travel around the world, and especially his service during the Vietnam War.

He loved his family above everything and was so proud of his children and loved having them every Sunday for lunch.
